Joining WTO offers countries access to a
club of nations that are attempting under
current negotiations to reduce tariffs on
trade in goods and services.
It also settles trade disputes among members
and offers technical assistance to
developing nations.
Currently 148 member countries
U.S. alone has succeeded to block Iran from
membership more than 20 times over the years.
