ran is a country in south western Asia located on the eastern shore of the Persian Gulf and is considered as one of the most mountainous countries of the world.

The second largest country in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia, Iran , extends over a total area of 1.648.000sq.Km. According to latest estimates, its population reaches to 66.128.465 where the capital, Tehran, holds approximately 6.7 millions.

Iran contains mount Damavand, The highest peak in Asia west of the Himalayas. The country’s population, while ethnically and linguistically diverse, is almost entirely Muslim.

Iran ranks among the world’s leaders in its reserves of oil and natural gas. As is the Case in other countries in the petroleum – rich Persian Gulf region, The export of oil has dominated Iran’s economy since The early 20th century.
